A Masterpiece......or Two......or Three!

Feeling a bit emotional this morning.  I know, I know....hormones, right?  But it is more than that.  I woke up this morning thinking the number 37.  I am 37 weeks pregnant.  A miracle for sure.  At some points in this pregnancy I didn't know how far we would make it and yet here we are at 37.  I kissed my kids an extra time or two this morning and really soaked in our family of four about to be five.  Every child is such a gift.  I can't wait to unveil this last one.

It has not always (or rarely has) been easy on this pregnancy journey to hold a thankful heart but I try.....still try.  I have a doctor's appointment this morning and will see what the situation is today.  One foot in front of the other.  We are getting close to this journey's end and the fresh start of a new story.

This weekend the kid's and I had some fun!  My two Masterpieces painted my belly with finger paints and it was SO FUN!!!  I say they are my masterpieces because they really are.  They came to life from love, passion, care and a bit of serendipity.  Their souls truly do light up and I am thankful for each one of them.

Take a look at our work in progression.

So timid at first.  Dab....dab...dab.  Is this really OK, Mama?

Oh yeah.  It is fine!  Such a  serious little artist at work.

By now we all have our bellies painted and they look beautiful.

Color upon color.  Layer upon layer.  Memories that I will never forget.

A little more work on themselves.

And finally a "B" for Baby about to Bust!
So after this,  at times turbulent storm, it is our time for a rainbow!  And if we don't see one today..............We can surely paint one's for ourselves!

Handmade Gifts For The Girl!

I loooooove handmade gifts!  To my delight we have our 1st one here for baby girl than I am tickled pink about.  I feel like a crazy person talking about crocheted sweaters today since the temp outside is a blistering 90 degrees and I am sweating just typing this.  But I had to play show an tell with this today.

Our dear family friend, Joanne made this little number for us as she has done for the other 2 kiddos.  She even made the white blanket that is shown here too.

these booties kill me

so soft and pretty

what a precious set!

Here is the crocheted wonderland that she has created for us!  We sooooo appreciate all the time and love she put into each and every one of these pieces!  True talent here too!!!  I feel lucky to have her think of us not once,  but 3 times!  Actually she made 6 sweaters and one blanket in total.....all gorgeous and we get lots a wear out of them.

Take  a look.

We Heart you Joanne!!!  Thank you SO SO much.

I also bought a little crocheted something, something on Etsy that I could not resist but I can't show you yet.  That reveal is for later when I have a real model!

I would just like to threw out a few random thoughts and feelings I have at the moment.

I am sooooooooo hungry lately it is absolutely ridiculous.

The baby has really dropped really low.....really low.

If anything falls on the floor in my house don't expect me to pick it up until the end of July or so.  Just sayin!

If you live in my house PLEASE pick things up that are on the ground and don't belong there.  No matter your age here........I am talking to you....and you....and you too!  Help a Mama out.

Doc appointment this week showed baby has adequate fluid around her.  Hooray!

I  have started to dilate and cervix has softened!  Progress is being made.

Baby sounded good, I checked out good except for those damn platelets being too low.

Doc is seeing me at the beginning of next week again.  We will go appointment to appointment with no set plan right now on how/when to treat low platelet situation, induction, etc.  I hate that.

From a Mama who loves the heat, did I mention that I am sweating just typing this?  Yeah.  I think I did.  Well I still am.

This heat is making me delirous.  Time to drink some water and find a fan.

Love,
Mama Nic at 36 weeks and 2 days, who is getting bigger and bigger by the minute

Ode to Daddy..a Photo Journey of Fatherhood

Let's also not forget to mention our house (I am sure it is like another baby to him) he has literally built for us.  This 50's ranch home is now been transformed (still transforming) into a 2 story log cabin.  This heart was found in the river that runs behind our house and he HAS put his heart and soul into this house and his family every day of his life.  We love him for making it so special for us and this Daddy has not had a minute of free or down time since this house/family project has begun over 4 years ago! We love you Daddy with all our our hearts!

Happy Father's Day!!!

A Little Peasant Dress for my Littlest Girl

Bump 35 weeks and 3 days.  It is getting harder and harder to take these photos myself!  Look at her (and I!!) grow.  Amazing what the body can handle.
I wanted to do something special for the baby this week and I decided on sewing her a peasant dress.  I have never sewed this pattern before and used this tutorial found here on Sew Much Ado.  It worked out perfectly and I am more than happy at the results!  Here are the supplies.
Here is the finished dress!  I fell in love with the Fabric from Michael Miller called, Groovy Guitar In Bloom, and had to make something from it.  I found the sleeve fabric with matched perfectly at JoAnn Fabrics.

Here is the proud Mama, sitting in the nursery.
I can't believe her due date is in 32 more days!!!
I can't wait to be holding you in my arms, baby girl.

Love,
Mama Nic
